Critique Across Kansas and Missouri May 19 – June 4, 2023

For authors and illustrators of children’s books.

This event coordinates one-time critique groups across our region to help authors and illustrators make connections and receive peer feedback on their work.

I will be facilitating an online critique group. Here are the details:
Number of spots available: 5
Short description: General overview: You will submit a picture book manuscript for
critique. As the host, I will compile all submissions and send out a packet containing
all manuscripts to every participant. You will read and write comments in the packet
(for all stories except yours). Once complete, you’ll send the annotated document back
to me. I will then separate the critiques by author and return them to each author. Then,
we’ll all meet via zoom to socialize and discuss craft.
Genre: Picture book, fiction or non-fiction
Length: 900 words or less
Deadline to submit your own work for critique: May 19
Deadline to review others' work and submit your comments to Beth: May 29
